SALINE COUNTY - An autopsy is underway on an 18-month-old who was found dead along a bank near Blackwater River this weekend. Volunteer search crews found the baby on the bank of the river on Sunday morning.

Sheriff Wally George said an autopsy of the baby girl will be done Monday at 2 P.M. at the University of Missouri to determine the exact cause of death.

The mother's name has been identified as Lydia Iliff and the Saline County Sheriff's Department says she is currently being treated at a local hospital for dehydration.

Once the autopsy has been performed, the results will go to the prosecutor to review if any charges need to filed.

There is no confirmation on whether or not Iliff is connected to the death of the baby. But a KOMU 8 reporter spoke to volunteers Sunday who helped look for the baby and said the body was found near a missing truck off County Road 105 and Route K that may be connected to Iliff.

Marshall radio station, KMMO reports Illis suffers from schizophrenia.
