UPDATE: Columbia Police Investigate Robbery

COLUMBIA - Columbia police are investigating an armed robbery and car theft that occurred on Tuesday night at the WalMart Super Center on West Broadway.

The victim says the suspect approached him with a gun and threatened him into driving to a bank to withdraw money from the ATM. The suspect struck the driver several times with a handgun about the head and face causing minor injuries. After the victim withdrew money from the ATM, the suspect stole the victim's car, keys, wallet and electronics.

The suspect stole a white 2002 Ford Focus with Missouri registration. The suspect is described as a black male, late 20's to early 30's, 5'8 with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, stocking cap, gloves and was armed with a handgun.
