COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department continue to investigate Monday's afternoon shooting in Columbia. The SWAT Team served a search warrant at 3421 Bonny Linn Drive late Monday night, according to Jill Schlude with the police department. Forensic Evidence Team officers recovered several firearms, ammunition, several high capacity magazines and illegal narcotics including marijuana, crack cocaine and ecstasy. One of the handguns inside the house was stolen and linked to a burglary in Northeast Columbia.
This all started Monday around 1:15 p.m. when shots were fired in North Columbia. Residents in the neighborhood called a shots-fired report. Police chased down possible suspects on foot and arrested one man. As of Tuesday afternoon, the department will not tell KOMU the suspect's identity and if he was involved in the shooting.
Investigators are now trying to figure out who lives at the residence and who owns the white SUV parked behind the house. Neighbors nearby have reported of multiple bullet holes in their homes from the shooting on Monday.
The SWAT Team was also called on September 17th for a wanted person on Oxford Drive; however, Schlude said that is completely unrelated to this incident.
