COLE COUNTY - The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the names of victims of a two-vehicle car accident at westbound Highway 54 and Heritage Highway. Glen Plate, 78, and Charlotte Plate, 76, of Oskaloosa, Iowa are both in serious condition in the intensive care unit at University Hospital as of 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
According to a crash report from the highway patrol, Glen Plate was driving a Dodge Caravan. Both he and Charlotte Plate were also wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The highway patrol also said Patricia Watts, 41, of Eugene, Mo. was driving the Jeep Cherokee involved in the crash. Glen Plate failed to stop at a stop sign and entered Watts' vehicle's path. This caused Watts' vehicle to strike Plate's vehicle in the driver's side door.
Watts was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with moderate injuries. She was also wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
