HOWARD COUNTY - A man took his own life after a standoff with multiple agencies Friday. Howard County Sheriff Mike Neal said the standoff ended at 11:30 Friday morning.
KOMU 8 News was on the scene since early Friday morning. It wasn't until late Friday afternoon the Sheriff confirmed that it was over.
The standoff began Thursday night around 11:15 as a domestic dispute. The Howard County Sheriff's department responded to a call and found the dispute was between a man and a woman who are married but have reportedly been separated for a few months.
The woman safely left the house, on the west end of County Road 342, around 11:30 Thursday night.
The father of the woman said her husband, the man who died, beat her and duct taped her. The father also said the woman was released from Boonville Hospital Friday afternoon.
