UPDATE: Police find dead shooting victim in Columbia home
COLUMBIA — Police taped off a Columbia home Sunday afternoon to investigate a suspicious shooting death.
The Columbia Police Department sent officers to the 1800 block of Kathy Drive for a reported gunshot wound at 3:17 p.m.
When they arrived, officials found the dead body of a 39-year-old Kevin Robert Hollingshead who had apparently been shot.
CPD Public Information Officer Bryana Larimer said there were others inside the home, as well.
Officers detained a man and a woman for questioning in relation to the incident.
Larimer said the police department will also talk to neighbors or other people who may have information.
"Anytime in an investigation like this, a suspicious death investigation, they're making contact with anyone who's in the area, anyone who might have heard anything or seen anything," Larimer said.
Officers will enter the home and continue processing the scene once they obtain a search warrant.
An animal control crew entered the home with a crate and a looped catching pole. Authorities said this was to contain animals in the home during the course of the investigation.
