COLUMBIA - A 21-year-old man is still in critical condition on Wednesday, one week after being shot at the Providence Hill Town Homes. The Columbia Police Department has not released his name and said emergency crews transferred him from the scene to the hospital with "life-threatening injuries."

The shooting happened in town home A in the 2311 building, where neighbor Keity Walker said two women live. She said the man who was shot visited one of the women often, but did not live in the apartment complex.

Walker said he saw the victim removed from the building on a stretcher by paramedics. She said she also saw police remove a couch from the unit with blood on its cushions.

Officers arrested Cory A. Foster on Tuesday around 3:39 p.m., according to a news release from the department. It said it has forensic evidence linking the suspect to the shooting at the Providence Town Homes. He was arrested for armed criminal action, burglary and assault.
