Vehicle Collision South of Salisbury Causes a Fatality

CHARITON COUNTY - A fatal accident of 25-year old Jessica Stoebe occurred at 7:45 Monday morning due to multiple vehicle collisions, according to the Chariton County Sheriff's Office.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Bobbie Vollrath, 40, crossed the center line and struck the vehicle of 18-year-old Austin Cole five miles south of Salisbury. Cole lost control of his vehicle and collided into Stoebe.

Stoebe came to rest off the east side of the roadway and pronounced dead by Chariton County Coroner Larry Bresears. Vollrath was found in moderate condition and taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center. Cole was taken to the University Hospital in Columbia due to serious injuries. Vollrath and Cole were both in stable condition Monday night.
