Victim of eastern Missouri house fire identified
ST. CLAIR (AP) — A body found dead inside a burning eastern Missouri home has been identified as that of a 69-year-old man.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said Vernon White died of smoke inhalation during the fire reported late Wednesday near St. Clair in Franklin County.
It took about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Franklin County authorities said the fire remains under investigation, but there's no evidence of a suspicious cause.
