COLUMBIA - Mid-Missouri residents had the opportunity to learn about car seat safety Friday.

"Just Between Friends," hosted the event for the sixteenth time. Professionals evaluated car seats to make sure they were not malfunctioning.

Michelle Wiginton, who owns two of the organizations in Missouri, said events like Friday's help parents make sure their car seats are safe.

"'Just Between Friends has a full time recall specialist and we work with wemakeitsafer.com," Wiginton said.

She said the site also provides a list of items that have been recalled and provides parents with information about what they need to do.

All the car seats brought to the event were safe, according to Wiginton.

The current Graco recall is due to harness buckles were not releasing from their latched positions.

Some of the models that have had this problem include: Cozy Line, Comfort Sport, Classic Ride 50, My Ride 65, My Ride With Safety Surround, , My Ride 70, Size 4 Me 70, Smartseat, Nautilus, Nautilus Elite and Argos 70.

Parents who believe they may have a faulty car seat may contact the Graco help line at 800-345-4109.
