Walton, Hughes to transfer from Mizzou basketball program
COLUMBIA – The Mizzou basketball team announced in a statement on Tuesday that sophomore guard K.J. Walton and freshman guard Frankie Hughes plan to transfer from the program.
In his two seasons with the Tigers, Walton averaged 6.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He also appeared in 63 games with 24 starts. Hughes averaged 7.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game and appeared in 30 games in his one season with the Tigers. He played 19.3 minutes per game in his freshman season.
“We wish K.J. and Frankie the best in their future academic and athletic pursuits,” head coach Cuonzo Martin said. “We will support both of them as much as possible, and assist in their transitions to the best of our ability.”
Walton and Hughes have not yet announced where they plan to transfer.
