This led State Troopers and Macon County Sheriff's Deputies on an extensive manhunt on Tuesday.  The search included dozens of troopers and deputies, a K-9 unit from Moberly, a helicopter, and a plane.  After several hours, the search was suspended.

"Troopers covered the entire area, but especially at this time in the year, finding a subject in a deeply wooded area can be difficult," Bernhardt said.

Despite not finding optimistic, Bernhardt is remaining positive.

"We're optimistic he'll turn up," he said. "Just exactly where, we don't know."

Holcomb is a six foot tall, 160 pound white male, is wanted on a felony probation and parole warrant issued from the State of Louisiana.  He is wanted on another felony warrant in Georgia for a drug and assault charge.

"We encourage people who live in these areas to lock their cars and make sure their homes are secured," Bernhardt said. "As with any fugitive, we want people to understand that they can be dangerous."

If you have seen anyone matching Holcomb's description or have any information about him, you are encouraged to call 911 immediately.
