Warsaw Man Wins $250 Thousand in Mega Millions
WARSAW - A Warsaw Parks and Recreation employee played the Missouri Lottery and walked away with a 250 thosuand dollar prize.
"I saw on the screen, '$250,000,' I looked at her [his wife], she looked at me and I said 'Does that really say what I think it says?' Everybody at the store was slapping my hand and congratulating me," winner Donald Baresel said.
Baresel bought a Quick Pick ticket for the Mega Millions drawing on Friday, July 5 from Newman's Country Mart in Warsaw. He said he didn't realize he won until more than a week later when he checked his tickets on another stop. He said he checked against the Mega Ball, but didn't realize he matched all five white-ball numbers.
The winning numbers were 2, 23, 41, 47, and 54.
Baresel said he plays the lottery with his wife Susan.
"We've been saying that we're overdue," he said. "We've been playing about three years."
Baresel said he may buy a new vehicle and boat with the winnings. He said that he and wife will continue to play the lottery.
Newman's Country Store got a one thousand dollar bonus for selling Baresel the winning ticket.
