Wedding Exchange Event Kicks off in Columbia
COLUMBIA - The WED Exchange, a bridal flea market event, came to mid-Missouri Sunday afternoon.
The idea for the event, which had 15 professional vendors and 15 consignment sellers, was created by mid-Missouri event planner Natalie Imhoff. Imhoff's company The Bridal Solution coordinated the event.
"We just wanted to do something that brought past brides together with brides-to-be," Imhoff said. "We were just in the office thinking about it and we've already gotten calls from Dallas, Colorado and LA wanting to bring the WED Exchange there."
The event wasn't just for wedding fun - it was also about giving back to what Imhoff says is an important cause.
"We are so excited to paired up with Brides Against Breast Cancer," Imhoff said. "A portion of ticket and consignment sales will go towards them and we also have things that we're auctioning off.'
Participants who have personal donations were award pink "cupcakes for a cause." About 200 people attended the event at Museao which featured wedding decor ranging from flowers, dresses, photography services, dishware and more.
Imhoff also worked with business partners to coordinate a WED Exchange in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday. Columbia and Detroit are the first two locations for the event. Imhoff says she may plan another exchange in Columbia for November, but will definitely make it an annual occassion with another exchange next April.
