Westminster Baseball Sweeps Non-Conference Ecclesia

FULTON -- The Westminster Blue Jays' Baseball team swept non-conference Ecclesia 7-6 and 14-4 Wednesday afternoon.
The wins improve the Blue Jays' record to 21-9.

The Blue Jays' bats caught fire in the bottom of the fifth. With bases loaded, Danton Hughes stepped to the plate and cracked a double into left field, scoring sophomore Tyler Branneky and Pichler.

Deion Hughes stepped up to the plate and RBI singled, scoring Danton Hughes and Whitaker. The Blue Jays held the Royals to three up, three down the next two innings, pulling out the 7-6 win.

Sophomore Tommy Bohnert came in for relief and was credited with the win, pitching 3.2 innings and striking out one.

Deion Hughes and Whitaker both went 2-for-3 from the plate. Deion and Danton Hughes led the Blue Jays with three RBI each.

The Blue Jays host Principia College Thursday, May 2, for a single game at 7:30 p.m.
