Westminster Women's Basketball Reaches SLIAC Tourney Final

FULTON -- The top-seeded Westminster College women's basketball squad topped #4 Webster University 69-34 in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) semifinal Friday at Westminster Gym.

The first half was close with Westminster going into intermission with a 33-27 lead. Leading 50-34, the Blue Jays closed the game on a 19-0 run. Junior Hannah Kloster led Westminster with 13 points, while senior Liz Klaffenbach added 11 points. Sophomore Leigh Ann Lutz chipped in 10 points, and senior Heather Letourneau finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and seven steals.

The Blue Jays (21-4) will play #2 Eureka College (21-4) in the tournament championship at 7:00 p.m. Saturday. The winner of Saturday's championship game earns the SLIAC automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament.
