COLUMBIA – In an action-packed week for Mizzou and Columbia College athletics, KOMU Sports has the games you won’t want to miss out on this week.

 

Tuesday, December 5

 

Mizzou Men’s Basketball vs Miami (OH) (8:00 PM) on the SEC Network

 

Coming off a 62-59 win in Orlando against a good Central Florida team, the Tigers will look to improve upon their impressive 42 percent shooting behind the three-point line to a Redhawks team allowing an average of 31.2 percent in the same category.

 

Thursday, December 7

 

Columbia College Women’s Basketball vs College of the Ozarks (5:30 PM)

 

The 6-3 Cougars are looking to turn their two-game winning streak to three as the 10-0 Bobcats come to town. Guard Cassidy Johnson leads the undefeated squad offensively, leading the team in points (16.2 per game) and scoring 15+ in four of her last five contests.

 

No. 7 Columbia College Men’s Basketball vs Avila College (7:30 PM)

 

The nationally ranked men are coming off of their first loss of the year last week at William Woods 84-69. Leading-scorer (16.8 per game) Preston Whitfield sat that one out and that proved to be the difference. Avila comes into the game 6-3 and 0-2 in conference.

 

Friday, December 8

 

Mizzou Women’s Volleyball vs No. 1 Penn State (1:00 PM) on ESPNU

 

After nail-biting wins over No. 19 Kansas and No. 16 Wichita State, Wayne Kreklow needs the biggest win out of his team after earning his 600th of his career this weekend. Volleyball powerhouse Penn State is the Tigers’ next opponent and they had to University Park, Pennsylvania to take on the Nittany Lions.

 

No. 17 Mizzou Women’s Basketball vs Saint Louis University (7:00 PM) on SEC Network +

 

Moving up two spots in the AP to 17, the Tigers’ offense is picking up steam after a 81-45 win over New Orleans last week. All but two Tigers put the ball through the hoop, but First Team All-SEC Sophie Cunningham lead the way with 18 points and 19 minutes.

 

Saturday, December 9

 

Mizzou Men’s Basketball vs Wisconsin – Green Bay (8:00 PM) on SEC Network

 

The cheeseheads from Wisconsin come down for the Tigers’ second game of the week. The Phoenix are fresh off of a two-game losing streak to Stetson and Belmont, they also face Eastern Illinois before coming to Columbia.

 

Sunday, December 10

 

No. 4 Mizzou Men’s Wrestling vs Ohio (1:00 PM) on Mizzou Network

 

Coming off a dominant 36-3 victory in their first conference match over Old Dominion on Sunday, the Tigers advanced to 7-0 on the season and take on MAC opponent Ohio this weekend. Ohio comes into Mizzou with a 0-2 record and a close 18-14 loss at home against Appalachian State has not helped the Bobcats out.

 

No. 17 Mizzou Women’s Basketball vs SIU-E (2:00 PM) on SEC Network +

 

In their final game of the week, the Southern Illinois – Edwardsville Cougars come to town to take on the nationally ranked Tigers. The two competed in Columbia last year, with the Tigers easily taking the game 72-60.
