Wife Charged in Death of St. Louis Developer
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A suburban St. Louis woman has been charged in the fatal stabbing of her husband.
St. Louis County police said in a release Thursday that the county prosecutor has charged 69-year-old Mary Mullenix with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her husband, 76-year-old Ivan L. Mullenix Sr., a former real estate developer.
Police were called the couple's home in the upscale village of Country Life Acres earlier Thursday on a report of a stabbing.
Mary Mullenix is also charged with armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence. Her bond was set at $500,000.
Country Life Acres is a village of about 70 residents near Town and Country, which provides its police services. St. Louis County has been handling the case for Town and Country police
