William Woods Students Help Comedian Make a Comeback
Baumgartner, who is known as "world's worstfarmer", had been doing routines for more than 20 yearsbefore he had a series of strokes that left him without the ability totalk fluently.
The StudentWebsite Advancement Team at William WoodsUniversity spent over 50 hours sifting through old footageof the "World's Worst Farmer" routines to create avideo that will be used in place of baumgartner'sperformance.
Students are also working on awebsite to showcase the movie and market Baumgartnersroutine.
Baumgartner's wife Janice hopes that whenBaumgartner starts performing again he will be able to inspire peoplewho are recovering from a stroke.
"I feel like peoplewill come away knowing that when something does happen, like you have astroke, it just takes a lot of work to come back and youdidn't stop, you just kept on working" janicesaid.
Students say working with the baumgartners hasbeen a great experience.
"I can't say how much theyprovide to everybody else, you know, they want toprovide his humor even after all he's been through" said David Ridenourwho helped with the website.
The movie airedWednesday evening, the website is expected to be up and running nextweek.
