ST. LOUIS (AP) -- When Sam Bradford's getting knocked down frequently, the St. Louis Rams' well-paid offensive line is a convenient culprit.

Bradford got sacked five times and tackle Jason Smith, the second overall pick of the 2009 draft, got benched in the fourth quarter of last week's blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said the number of pass protection packages the Rams have used could be a factor, along with quicker decision-making by Bradford.

Blocking by the running backs and tight ends is part of the equation. Cadillac Williams, for instance, isn't as effective as Steven Jackson.

The Rams (0-3) host the Redskins (2-1) on Sunday.
