Woman accused of aiding a sexual offender who failed to register
CALLAWAY COUNTY - The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people, one accused of failing to register as a sex offender and another accused of aiding a sexual offender.
Officials arrested Cheryll Lewis, 63, of Holts Summit, saying she aided Timothy Durbin, 35, also of Holts Summit.
Officials began an investigation in late February. At the time Durbin's registered residence was with Lewis at her Holts Summit residence. As the investigation continued, the sheriff's department said, Lewis continually said Durbin was residing with her at her residence, but Durbin could not be located there.
Officials arrested Durbin in Fulton Monday, saying he was violating two Callaway County felony probation and failing to register as a sex offender.
Lewis was arrested Tuesday.
Durbin was in the Callaway County Jail on $10,000 cash only bond. Lewis posted a $4,500 bond and was released from jail pending court appearance.
