Woman arrested for vehicular assault, two sent to hospital
BOONE COUNTY - The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a woman on several charges after she hit multiple vehicles, sending two people to the hospital.
The department arrested Deborah Barr, 51, from Columbia on two counts of assault, assaulting a law enforcement officer, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest and careless driving.
Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Easter Lane at 7:08 Monday night. They said they discovered Barr had hit multiple mailboxes and a vehicle driving in the area.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department said Barr left that scene before heading to I-70 Drive Southeast near Wester Lane, where Barr hit another car, injuring an adult and child.
Emergency vehicles transported both of them to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies said they found Barr was intoxicated during their investigation.
Authorities said Barr hit one of the deputies as they were taking her into custody. The deputy was uninjured.
