Woman arrested on charges of theft, lying to police
COLUMBIA - Columbia police arrested a woman after being dispatched to the Super 7 Motel on Range Line Street where someone reported a vehicle break in.
Police later identified the suspect as Morgan Williams.
The victim reportedly left his car parked at the motel and began to walk north when he turned to check on his vehicle and saw Williams in it.
The victim reported Williams stole his wallet with an undisclosed amount of money, and saw her run up some stairs of the motel and enter a motel room.
Officers made contact with Williams and she provided someone else’s name.
Officers found a pillow case on the upper floor of the motel with Williams’s social security card and drug paraphernalia.
Williams faces charges for deceiving a law enforcement officer, stealing misdemeanor, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering in the second degree, and a misdemeanor warrant for operating an unlicensed vehicle.
Her bond was set at $2,175.
