Woman arrested on suspicion of assaulting man in Douglass Park
COLUMBIA — Columbia police said a 20-year-old woman punched a 19-year-old man and used a tool to cut him at Douglass Park on Friday night.
Meisha M. McDuffy, of Columbia, was arrested on suspicion of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action, a news release from the Columbia Police Department said.
Police said officers arrived after 8:41 p.m. and saw the man had cuts to his abdomen, arm and hand. Police said the two knew each other through a mutual acquaintance and McDuffy came to the park upset with the man.
The man's injuries were not life-threatening and he was transported to a local hospital.
