Woman hurt when tree falls through house
POPLAR BLUFF (AP) - A southeast Missouri woman is recovering from injuries after a tree that was being removed from an adjoining lot fell the wrong way and crashed into her house.
The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reports that Patricia Montiel of Poplar Bluff was injured Oct. 24 when kitchen cabinets were knocked off the wall and a microwave on a shelf fell. Montiel had bruises, including to her back. Her husband and two sons were not hurt.
The owner of the neighboring lot had workers cutting down a tree when it fell the opposite way than they expected.
