Woman Sought In Boyfriend's Death Arrested In Mo.
SPRINGFIELD - A southwest Missouri woman being sought since Wednesday in the shooting death of her occasional boyfriend is in custody.
Thirty-two-year-old April Guy is charged with second-degree murder in last weekend's killing of 24-year-old Russell Lawrence, described by detectives as Guy's "off-and-on" boyfriend. Lawrence's mother discovered his body Monday at his home in Rogersville, about 15 miles from Springfield.
Police and troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Guy just before noon Friday walking along a street in Springfield. Her booking photo showed her with dark, shoulder-length hair rather than the long, blond hair she had in earlier photos.
Guy did not yet have a lawyer. Investigators said in court documents that Guy told others she shot Lawson with a .22-caliber weapon Saturday night following an argument.
