Work near Route K punctures line, around 150 customers lose gas
COLUMBIA - A representative from Ameren Missouri told KOMU 8 News Friday afternoon that workers near Route K punctured a gas line, leaving about 150 customers without gas.
Bryan Daniels, spokesman for Ameren, said the incident happened around 1 p.m. Friday at 5541 Route K and the gas outages were in that neighborhood and the surrounding area.
Daniels said workers shut the gas off, adding that repairs should be complete within a couple hours.
"Safety of our customers and personnel is of utmost concern," said Daniels. "We are working as safely and quickly as possible."
Daniels said there haven't been any evacuations.
