"Wrap Up Missouri" helps keep Missourians warm
COLUMBIA - Missouri Pay It Forward has come up with an inaugural event aimed to help those in need. "Wrap Up Missouri," which will occur Saturday.
Volunteers will take the scarves, hats and gloves Missouri Pay It Forward has collected over the past several weeks and tie them around the trees outside Faith Baptist Church. Volunteers will also attach notes to the articles of clothing to indicate they are not lost but free to take.
Sylvia Bales Sprinkle, executive director of Missouri Pay It Forward, said, "This isn't just an event to benefit homeless people, this is for everybody. You'd be surprised the amount of people who could benefit from some extra clothes. It makes everyone feel good."
Faith Baptist Church is located on Brown Station Road. Sprinkle said she expects to arrive at the church around 8 a.m. to distribute the clothes.
Missouri Pay It Forward is a nonprofit organization that operates out of an office on Rangeline Street.
