WWU's Becker Named AMC Player of the Week
ST. LOUIS -- After helping the Owls to a perfect 7-0 record during the week of September 30, Emily Becker was announced as the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week. The freshman helped the William Woods University volleyball team to a perfect 9-0 stretch and pushed WWU into fourth place in the league.
She averaged better than four kills a set last week with a hitting percentage of .340 in leading William Woods to four AMC wins during the stretch. The freshman averaged 14.42 kills per match with six double-digit kill matches. In a four set win over Westminster, Emily posted a career-high 20 kills and added six digs and three aces. Earlier in the week the 6-1 Becker picked up a double-double against Lindenwood-Belleville with 12 kills and 14 digs.
On the week Emily notched 101 kills, 59 digs, 14 service aces, five solo blocks and 18 block assists.
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, October 2nd when they travel to St. Louis to face Missouri Baptist University in a conference match-up at 7 p.m.
