BELLEVILLE, IL -- Four players for the William Woods University women's basketball team scored in double figures as the No. 23 Owls rolled to a 73-60 win over NAIA newcomers Lindenwood University-Belleville on Saturday night. Priscila Santos led the Owls with 16 points and seven rebounds on the night. Olivia Storjohann shot 6-of-9 from the floor and hit at a 3-of-4 pace from distance en route to a 15-point outing.

The Owls led by 10 points at half and stretched the lead out to 13 by the end of the night. Three players for WWU - Santos (6-6), Ashlee Taylor (4-4) and Blake French (4-4) - were perfect from the free throw line in the second half to preserve the win.

William Woods held a stout edge on the glass, outrebounding the Lynx by a 41-30 margin, including a 15-9 edge in offensive rebounds. WWU dished out 14 assists to 12 for LU-B and picked up 10 steals to nine for the hosts.

The win marks the first double-digit season-opening win since the 2005-06 season for William Woods.

The Owls return home on Wednesday, November 7, to take on Missouri Valley College. Tipoff for the home opener is set for 7 p.m.
