Youth In Action, Summer Volunteer Program Begins its 11th Year
COLUMBIA - Youth In Action, a summer volunteer program for those ages 12-15, is a great way for young people to use their free time when school is out.
Participants have a choice of which opportunities they would like to volunteer. Scheduled projects include helping with the Soap Box Derby, the Family Fun Fests, Lunch in the Park and the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.
The City of Columbia's Volunteer Programs will host two informational sessions about Youth In Action and the 2012 summer program. The sessions are open house so interested youth and their parents or guardians may attend and sign up for volunteer activities Wednesday, May 23, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, Conference Room 1A or Friday, June 1, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 West Ash, Room C.
