Zero Traffic Tolerance
Fines for speeding tickets were almost doubled. If you are caught driving 19 mph over the speed limit, the fine jumps from a little more than $66 to more than $127.
Police said they will be more vigilant in watching for violations, but some drivers complain about the high fines.
"The cost of money is not right, they are charging you $83, and they shouldn't be $83, it should be $15, one feet one time," said driver Dale Nichols.
Police said this new policy comes from complaints about drivers breaking the rules. They have also increased fines for running stop signs and school zone violations.
