CLAYTON, Mo. - A popular St. Louis County park will soon get a zip line, despite strong opposition.
The St. Louis County Council on Tuesday approved a treetop adventure course at Creve Coeur Park. The company that will operate the zip line says development will start immediately.
The plan calls for lining seven to 10 acres of trees in the park's upper forest with cables, swinging bridges and ropes. But several people who spoke at the council meeting expressed concern that it will jeopardize birds populating a migratory habitat in the park.
