First Alert Forecast
A mid-September heat wave will continue for most of the week ahead with temperatures 10-15 degrees above average for this time of the year.
Temperatures will be soaring back into the low to mid 90s this week and a daily maximum temperature record is in jeopardy on Wednesday. That record is 94 set back in 2000.
Keep in mind that midday to evening heat index values will range from 93 to 100 from now until Thursday. Please note that any heat index value greater than 95 can lead to an earlier onset of heat exhaustion.
On Friday morning, a cold front will begin pushing into Missouri and should provide scattered rain and storm chances Friday afternoon/evening. This front will stall over Missouri this weekend leading to much cooler temps and another chance for showers on Saturday and Sunday.
