First Alert Forecast
Our heat wave will remain for the Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the middle 90s, feeling around 100 with humidity. There is a slight chance for pop-up showers/storms both days, which could cool the environment for some. It will also be breezy on Thursday with gusts around 30 mph.
On Friday morning, a cold front will begin pushing into Missouri and should provide scattered rain and storm chances Friday morning and afternoon. At this time there is a good chance that most of mid-Missouri is on the dry side of things Friday evening. This front will stall over central to southern Missouri this weekend leading to much cooler temps and continued chances for showers.
Be prepared to go from summer to fall in a day's time.
Temperatures will be cool this weekend with highs only in the lower 70s on Saturday. Rain is still possible on Saturday, however, there is an increased chance we will be aided by a strong high pressure system from the Great Lakes region, pushing most of the rain and the associated frontal system closer to I-44 than I-70.
