First Alert Forecast
As of 12pm, the National Weather Service has allowed wind chill advisories to expire. However, wind chills are expected to remain near -5 to -15F this afternoon. We are leaving our STORM MODE INDEX at a 1 out of 5 through Wednesday at noon because of the extreme cold conditions.
Be sure to bundle up and cover exposed skin. Temperatures such as these can result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia. High temperatures this afternoon will struggle to reach 10 degrees. Skies remain partly cloudy with a few flurries possible.
A warming trend will start on Wednesday as highs return to the lower 20s, but it gets much warmer for Thursday and Friday as highs return to above freezing. Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 30s and Friday’s are expected to be in the middle 40s.
It will be the warmest weekend we've seen so far in 2018 with temps in the low to mid 50s for Saturday and Sunday. Another cold front brings a good chance for rain Sunday.
