Next Few Hours
First Alert Forecast
With passing clouds tonight there is a chance for a few showers/thunderstorms in southwest mid-Missouri Wednesday evening, around Camden, Morgan, Pettis and Miller counties. Lows will only dip into the middle to upper 60s overnight.
Thursday will be partly sunny with a slight chance for isolated showers along and west of HWY 63 in the afternoon. Highs will be similar to Wednesday, in the middle 80s.
Friday afternoon and evening is the best chance for showers and thunderstorms this Memorial Day weekend. Expect isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms as we head into the evening hours on Friday. High temperatures will only reach the lower to middle 80s on Friday due to increasing cloud cover ahead of the storms.
The remainder of the weekend will feature high temperatures near 90 (and near records) along with dew points in the lower to middle 70s, meaning humidity will be rather uncomfortable, if not oppressive at times. The heat index, or feel-like temperatures each afternoon will likely be in the middle to upper 90s. The weekend will feel like July and August, not late May.
We also cannot rule out a pop-up shower/thunderstorm throughout the weekend, but certainly the majority of the weekend looks mostly to partly sunny, hot and humid. There will be plenty of dry time and sunshine for outdoor activities. Don't forget the sunscreen and/or a hat.
