First Alert Forecast
The mild and sunny weekend weather is spilling into the beginning of the new work week. Due to clear skies, temps out the door have cooled into the upper 30s and lower 40s in most areas over central Missouri. A developing south breeze and sunny skies will help temps quickly rise back into the middle to upper 70s this afternoon.
Evening conditions will remain mild with a few high passing clouds. Evening temps will hold in the 60s/70s, falling into the lower 50s by Tuesday morning.
Clouds will be increasing Tuesday in the advance of a storm system to the west. South winds will be breezy with gusts as high as 25 mph. Temps are expected to rise to near 80 by the afternoon.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm will develop by late evening and continue overnight through Wednesday morning. This will be as a cold front moves through the state Wednesday morning, cooling temps on Wednesday and Thursday in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
A progressing storm system by late week will provide likely chances for showers and thunderstorms by Friday and throughout the weekend, especially Saturday. A few storms could be strong at times and will be monitored for their severity. Temps into the weekend will rise into the 70s.
