First Alert Forecast
Areas of dense freezing fog have formed overnight and will make for icy/slick conditions this morning. Temperatures have held in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. A dense fog advisory will be in effect until 9am.
Road conditions may become slick as residue moisture from Sunday’s precipitation has remained on pavement. Black ice may form this morning in addition to the reduced visibilities.
Sunshine will eventually develop by mid/late morning and a south wind will help temperatures warm into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
While the evening will remain quiet, a strong cold front is expected to pass through the state early Tuesday morning and may present a chance for light rain showers before 8am. Temperatures will be in the middle 30s, only warming into the lower 40s by the afternoon.
Another chance for light snow arrives by late Wednesday morning. As of now, expected accumulations are around 1” to 3” through late Wednesday night. Unseasonably cold air will move in by late this week. Expected temperatures will be in the 10s and 20s for Thursday and Friday.
