First Alert Forecast
Passing showers and thunderstorms will continue to “train” over central Missouri today, mainly north of I-70. There will be times of sunshine between intermittent showers. Temperatures today will warm into the middle 80s with a heat index near 92.
Another pass of energy in the atmosphere will help push a cold front south and along I-70 this evening. This will help induce a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms. A few may become strong with damaging winds and heavy rain as the main severe threats. A tornado cannot be ruled out. Overnight low temps will fall into the upper 60s.
Thunderstorms are possible once again Friday morning before clearing by late afternoon. Temperatures will be slightly cooler and less humid with highs in the lower 80s.
More thunderstorms are possible on Saturday and Sunday as gulf moisture returns and squishes along a stalled frontal boundary over the central plains. With times of sunshine this weekend, temperatures will warm into the middle 80s.
