Most people don't know I set three alarms to wake up.
One so I can hit snooze, another so I can at least crack my eyelids, then the loudest alarm to scare me out of bed!
When I get past those first 15 minutes though, I am a true morning person.
A native Missourian, I graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis and decided to forgo college football to chase a journalism degree at MU. I can say I have no regrets.
I started broadcasting at KTRS-AM in St. Louis as an overnight board operator/weather announcer, so I'm used to early mornings!
Since then, I've been blessed to learn about the people of Mid-Missouri through work at KOMU. I've been part of the KOMU team for almost five years. I started as a videographer for Friday Night Fever, then inched my way into the newsroom as a desk attendant, reporter, and eventually anchor.
Away from news, I'm an avid Tigers, Cardinals, and Rams fan. I also love spending time with people from my church and traveling to different countries for mission trips. My travel history includes - Japan, England, El Salvador, and Honduras.
My wife and I live in Columbia. We have one daughter. My family still lives in St. Louis, with extended family in Kentucky and Florida.
I'm excited to set those alarm clocks to wake up with you on KOMU News Today and update you throughout the day on KOMU News at Noon.
