BACK TO SCHOOL! Going back to school is stressful whether you're 5, 15 or 35. It's important for parents to help make the transition back to school smooth: a smooth transition can give the child the confidence he needs to do well all year. Start making adjustments several weeks ahead of time:
1) REST: Earlier bedtimes 2) NUTRITION: Fuels a child's brain 3) MORNING ROUTINES: Prepare the night before 4) AFTER SCHOOL ROUTINES: Homework, dinner bedtime.
Also, visiting the school and meeting your teacher ahead of time will help alleviate first-day-jitters at any age.
