1 acorn or butternut squash 1 apple 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon buttr or margarine Cinnamon
Leave squash whole and pierce several times with a knife. Cook 5-8 minutes or until you can smell it and it feels soft to the touch. Let stand 5 minutes. Prepare the apple by coreing and slicing into thin slices. Cook in microwave just until tender, 2-3 minutes. Cut squash in half and remove seeds. Place cut side up in shallow baking dish or on serving plate. Fill cavity with cooked apple slices, top with brown sugar and a pat of butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Return to microwave just long enough to melt butter and sugar together. Serve hot.
NOTE: These can be prepared ahead of time and heated just before serving. NOTE: All winter squash can be used as centerpieces on your harvest table.
