ST. ANN (AP) - Governor Blunt is recommending a $2 million funding increase for Missouri's Parents as Teachers program. Blunt was at the St. Louis suburb St. Ann Tuesday to make the annoucement. He was joined by his wife, Melanie, and their son, Branch, who is almost two. The family is among 150,000 Missouri families that participate in the early-childhood education program. The governor's recommendation would bring total funding to $34.3 million for fiscal 2008.
