Below freezing temperatures are back in Mid-Missouri, and freezing temperatures mean freezing conditions.
The winter weather is taking a toll on people - and their cars. One problem people are facing is the ice buildup on their windshields and car windows.
One car that was exposed in the weather for less than half an hour was covered in a thick layer of ice. Some mid-Missourians have spent 10 to 20 minutes scraping ice off their cars, but not all rely solely on ice scrapers.
"I always have to let mine warm up all the time, it keeps the ice off the windshield so I can drive and get out early," said Morgan Kimbrough, one Columbia driver.
Natalie Stark, another driver in Columbia said, "I'm hoping that the ice is over with. I'd love it if it were snow, but I hope the ice is done."
A few tips for those trying to get their cars ice-free.
- Start your car for a few minutes before you try to scrape.
- Make sure you have windshield wiper fluid.
- Have a ice scraper in your car.
- And change your windshield wipers.
