COLUMBIA - An early-morning Columbia armed robbery left one victim with head injuries after a confrontation in their home.

Police responded to an armed robbery report at about 1:30 a.m. Monday morning on the 3000 block of Bent Oak in Columbia.

Police reports say the suspects, described as four masked black males in their late teens or early 20s armed with shotguns, entered through an open door although a dog was present and confronted the 55 and 65-year-old residents, one of which is disabled in a wheel chair.

The suspects demanded money and struck the disabled victim with the butt of a shotgun, then stole an undisclosed amount of money, electronics and jewelry before leaving the house in the victim's vehicle.Police found the vehicle abandoned in a northeast Columbia neighborhood this morning.

The struck victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
