After a loss to St. Dominic last year, Helias prepares for a tough semi-final game.

The Helias soccer team heads to the state semi-finals on Friday. This year, the Crusaders are out for revenge. They will play St. Dominic, the same team that beat them in the championship match last year.

It's the same showdown and some players think that the rivalry is back. It's the at the same stadium where it all happened one year ago, when St. Dominic came back and defeated Helias.

"We could've beat them if we just played to our fullest and not make stupid mistakes and I think just getting another chance at them is just another sign that we will beat them this time," said Michael Schulte, Helias Senior Forward.

The team is back, and ready to take another shot at St. Dominic. They have been preparing for a tough game.

"It's a little interesting about this one because we get to play them first and they're probably the best competition that we're going to have up there. So we want to come out and win that first game and then hopefully be in the finals that next day," said Shane Convery, Helias Senior Stopper.

Coach Register has been formulating their gameplan for Friday, believing that it all comes down to one word to avoid last year's loss.

"It's kind of determination. How much determination do they have to come out and repeat kind of what we did last year by getting to the final four and having a chance to uh win a championship," said Chuck Register, Helias Soccer Coach

Winning the state championship would be a first for the Crusader soccer team.
