COLUMBIA - World War II veterans left Columbia early Tuesday morning to see their memorial in Washington, D.C.
They arrived back Tuesday night and met up with friends and family after the trip at Columbia's Holiday Executive Center.
About 55 veterans met first at the center to ride to the St. Louis Airport, and from there flew to the nation's capital.
Friends gathered at the center to salute veterans as they left, and friends were also there to see them return.
The next honor flight takes off on May 19th.
The Sarah Story about Honor Flight airs May 11th on KOMU at six.
