COLUMBIA - Michael Jackson's death affects even those in mid-Missouri.
The man known as the King of Pop died Thursday.
Jackson was pronounced dead after arriving at UCLA Medical Center in a coma this afternoon.
Jackson spent most of his 50 years in the spotlight, for both his music and the controversy surrounding his relationship with young boys.
A MU music professor says Jackson's legacy is all about music.
"His music will be the thing that will live," professor Michael Budds said. "People will forget about the details of his life and they won't mean very much to very many people. What of course will live will be those musical performances."
