MID-MISSOURI - Youth hunters in Missouri will soon get to hunt for a cheaper price.
On July 1, the Missouri Department of Conservation is changing the prices of youth hunting permits. The price for a firearm permit will be $8.50.
The Missouri Department of Conservation has elected to cut prices in half for youth hunting permits. One representative from the department said that they hope the permits will increase interest in hunting for youth.
Hunting permits for youth apply to ages 6-15. Although the price is changing, the limits for youth aren't.
Lonnie Hansen from the department said that this hunting season will be the same as others, just cheaper for younger kids, and he hopes it's a great hunting season.
